Courtney and Trent held their beautiful wedding under the huge fig tree at Bebe’s Farmhouse, just outside of the township of Somerset, west of Brisbane. As a wedding photographer, it has quickly become one of my favourite venues as it has so many little pockets for photos among the old cattle station homestead buildings, along with the rolling hills and big sky country of the region. The beauty of it all is that we don’t need to go anywhere else for photos, which makes my job easier and the portrait session super fun and quick. Their celebrant, Evie, made sure the ceremony was full of love and laughter and that everyone was present and enjoyed the ceremony without the distractions of a phone or camera (unplugged ceremonies all the way!!).
We wandered around exploring the property, taking photos along the way… finishing just in time for a mother of all storms to hit, cooling the steamy day down from about 35 degrees to something in the mid twenties.
The newlyweds then celebrated with their friends and family down the road at the beautiful Coronation Hall, a heritage listed building smack bang in the middle of the town. It is a blank canvas and holds so many possibilities for a wedding reception…. or you can leave it in its natural state and it is just as lovely…. all it needs are a few strings of lights and you’re set!
The whole Somerset Dam region is such a beautiful part of Queensland, and the perfect location if you are wanting to do your wedding, your way without restrictions of menu options and ceremony times. Check out the links to everyone involved in the day below.
