Lifestyle photography is defined as is a kind of photography which mainly aims to capture portrait/people in situations, real-life events or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday. The primary goal is to tell stories about people’s life or to inspire people in different times (thanks Wiki) – I think that is a pretty accurate definition. I like the part about capturing real life events and the art of the everyday. That’s what photography can do! Turn life into art! Something tangible that you can hang on your wall and say “that’s totally us!”….. pictures that you can look back on every year and see how much you’ve all grown and changed, and how your home has become homier.
I LOVE shooting families! It’s so much fun and I love being welcomed into your home. Starting at your place is my preferred way to do things and it is actually a really nice way to begin, especially where there are kids and pets involved, everyone is where they feel comfortable and are most likely to be their authentic selves. The house doesn’t have to be shiny and spotless, in fact, the more authentic the better, then we can head out to a nearby location should you wish. I always throw some lightly posed-look-at-the-camera shots in but the for most part, I will just be a fly on the wall of your lives, for an hour or two.
I cover the Brisbane metro area for family sessions however if you do live outside the region please get in touch! Sessions can be done on selected weekdays or some weekends where available.
Lifestyle sessions are $400 and include a 60-90 minute session on location, all images fully edited and delivered via digital download in hi and lo resolution.
